new york city

The city that never sleeps...and neither did we!

This is way past overdue...

Not that it wasn't a fabulous trip, because it WAS.

Last fall, my darling hubby gave me an envelope that contained my very own 'Golden Ticket' for a girl's getaway trip to NYC in December with my good friend, Andrea. We stayed right in Times Square and enjoyed the sights, food, shopping, broadway shows and the holiday hustle-bustle of New York City. It was fantastic!

Our first meal included this Chicken Club Sandwich, which, by the way, cost us $28! Weirdest sandwich I've ever eaten. But it was right in the middle of Times Square where we got in plenty of people watching while we tried to figure out how to eat this monster. We laughed.

Our poster and a portion of our heads made it on the Today Show for about 3 seconds!

Eating at Serendipity. Yes, the sign indicates a 2+ hour wait.

And yes, the frozen hot chocolate was worth the wait!

The night view from the Empire State Building. I just loved how the building on the right looked with the lights shining down--looked like it was encased in plexiglass. Stunning.

Another view - this city is amazing.

This was a whirlwind trip of nonstop (barely sleeping) fun! Thank you so much to our husbands for the trip and holding down the forts back at home!

Maybe next time they can join us....!

How FUN!!! Great pictures! Mmm I would love to try Serendipity frozen hot chocolate. I posted a knock off recipe for it on my blog--but I am sure it is not even close to the real thing:) You look like you had a great time! I am so glad! you deserve a little girl time now and then. What a sweet treat from your hubby!
