HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVIS!
He finally made it to double-digits--10 years old!
He was just a little boy and now look at him!

Hope you have a GREAT day, boyfriend!
We love you!

hubby getaway

He's back and boy was he in heaven!  What a hottie!  And the fish isn't so bad either!

Dennis just got back from a man trip to Alaska--fly fishing his little heart out. Apparently in the "fly fishing world" this fish was quite a catch!  It is a pretty Rainbow Trout, but really, what do I know! All I know is that my cute husband had a FABULOUS time! Thanks to all the men who accompanied him and to their wives for letting them go and joining me in a week of widowhood. We are sure happy to have him back!  Love you honey!  I'll be "cashing in" soon!

puppy love

Being as Eli is on "the same level" as Roxy, they are fast friends!  Roxy is so good with him (and all kids, for that matter) and just takes Eli's "abuse" so well.  Roxy's defense to Eli's grabbing and tugging is to lick him to pieces!   He usually gets the idea and tries to leave.

But Roxy just loves Eli so much--his toes, hands, whatever is lagging behind!

And, yes, with mobility comes pulling up to furniture!  Look at our baby!

On laundry day, I asked the little girls to keep on eye on Eli while I was in the laundry room. Look how well our little babysitters did.  They thought it would be funny (and easier) to "trap" Eli in the basket!  At least it kept him in one spot for a few minutes!

a first at soccer

Yes, we have another soccer player in the house! Natalie has decided to give it a try! And man is she good! She is on a team with 8 boys (she's the only girl!). She is a little more aggressive going after the ball with each game and enjoys being goalie because that's what position her big brother plays! Their team is undefeated so far. . .but who's keeping track?!

As you can see, she is very serious about this soccer career! Handstands, back bends, cartwheels--she's doubles as the cheerleader as well!

bravery

Several weeks ago, Davis went fishing with his dad--absolutely loved it until he was stung 8-10 times by wasps! Trying to brush them off and screaming, he jumped tino the river in hopes of relief. Thus, that ended their fishing trip. A couple of weeks later, Davis was mowing the lawn and was stung, yet again! He's a bit freaked out at this point, to say the least. Last Saturday, being lawn day again, it took some coaxing and encouragement to get him out there! As you can see, he was covered from head to toe (it was 95 degrees!) and keeping his eyes on this:

Dennis installed three of these things around our yard. Within the hour , this is what it attracted! YIKES! Despite his extreme fear of being stung, he plugged away for awhile until the backyard was completely mowed. What a brave young man he is! That's why we love our Davis so much--persistent and always does a good job! As a much-deserved reward--a BYU football game! Go Cougars!
