february

With just a few hours left of February - where did the month go? seriously - here's just a smidgen of what we have been up to this month.

We were heart attacked! In honor of Valentine's Day, we had a great time writing these 'love notes' to one another and enjoying them all around our kitchen. Very delightful to see our children communicate some kind of love and appreciation for each other - some in words, some in pictures. And then to enjoy them all month long!

Eli got a hold of my lipstick and was so proud as he came to me saying, "lip, lip." Up the nose, in the hair, in the carpet. Nice.

A little brother-bonding-before-bedtime (say that 10 times fast!) -

At the beginning of the month, we had interviews with each child and together came up with a personal challenge that would earn them a date night with mom and dad. Natalie was very eager and began right away. School mornings can be tough for her, so her challenge was to get up cheerfully and be ready for school on time for 2 weeks.

She did it! And we got to go to the BYU vs. Utah gymnastics meet together - with junk food and all!

We had a great time. Great job Nat! Can't wait for our next date night.

So that's just a glimpse of our February. There were lots of soccer and basketball practices and games, gymnastics, scouts, choir, orchestra, making flower clips for the young women, DQ's rained-out golf weekend, piano lessons, relief society lesson, dentist appointments, tubing at Soldier Hollow (took camera, no battery), merit badge classes....so there you have it. We were NOT lacking in things to do.

At least we were doing it together!

Love the date idea with mom and dad. Usually we just do dad dates. Great idea and we need some motivation around here! I'll be stealing that idea!

Fun update. I smiled at the took camera, no batteries thing. How many times have I done that. We need to do more dates with the kids.
